Open Knitting

Mondays 5pm-7pm, Wednesdays 1pm-3pm, Thursdays 5pm-7pm & Saturday 10am-5pm

Please join us for open knitting every Monday evening, Wednesday afternoon, Thursday evening and Saturdays! It’s a great way to get help and spend time with your fiber loving friends!! If you are interested in having your group meet in our space on a different day and time, just let me know and I’ll put it on the schedule!

 

"Skill Building Knitting Group"

Tuesday Mornings 10:30am-12:00noon Drop in/$10 per session

Are you looking to learn new stitches and new techniques? Are you looking for inspiration for a new project but don’t feel advanced enough in your skills? Are you stuck on a current project? Join us for these Tuesday morning skill building sessions. Each person receives individualized attention on their specific needs. The group will include instruction and comradery as we all learn from each other! (6 people max)


 

Tuesday Afternoon Spin-In

3rd Tuesday of Every Month 1:00-4:00pm Free!!

Bring your spinning wheel or drop spindle and spend the afternoon with friends! Experienced spinners will join us to answer questions or give assistance. No pre-registration is required!

 

Painting with Yarn: How to “Doodle” Your Way to a Shawl

Saturday, June 17th, 1:00pm-4:00pm Cost: $35.00 Instructor: Sherri Hruby

Let your inner creative out, or fake it until you make it (the shawl, that is)! Learn this easy way to start a shawl and add to it with short rows that let you “paint” with the colors of your yarn. The result will be curved rows of knitting, deliberate pools of color, and a beautiful one-of-a-kind creation that you’ve made. We’ll start the shawl shape and learn the “doodle knitting” technique you can easily use to create the rest of the shawl in free form. If you’re good at the knit stitch, you can do this! (8 people max; supplies not included)


 

Portuguese Knitting with Ali

Thursdays, July 8th, 1:00pm-3:00pm Cost:$25.00 Instructor: Ali Hartzell

Come learn how to Portuguese Knit and the advantages of this great technique. By the end of the two hours you will have the skills to knit, purl, and yarn over in the Portuguese style with the proof of a beautiful dish cloth! Please note: This is an advanced knitting class and it is a prerequisite that all participants have the fundamental skills and know how to knit, purl and yarn over already. (3 participants min, 6 maximum)


 

Little Fingers Knitting

Tuesday, July 11th, 1:00pm-3:00pm Cost:$25.00 Instructor: Michelle Cohen

If your little darling has wanted to learn but you’re not the one to teach them, bring them to us and we’ll help them learn the basics to get started on their very own project (TBD)! We have lots of fun colors of yarn to choose from. Of course, if you’d like to learn along with your child, we welcome the beginner big fingers as well! The cost is $35/parent-child pair. (6 participants max; supplies not included)

 

Christmas in July: Fair Isle Christmas Stocking

Saturday, July 15th, 10:30am-1:00pm Cost: $35.00 Instructor: Michelle Cohen

It’s never too early to start planning for Christmas! We will be using the Universal Yarns Dona Christmas stocking kit pattern to learn how to do Fair Isle (two color) knitting. The stocking is knit in the round (think big sock) but has a very simple heel and toe pattern. The patterns are classic and everyone in your family will want one when you are done! (6 participants max; supplies not included)

 

Knitting for Beginners

Thursday, August 3rd & 10th, 5:30pm-7:00pm Cost: $30.00 Instructor: Michelle Cohen

This is a true beginner class! If you think you’ve caught the knitting bug, then this class is for you! We will cover the very basics of choosing yarn and needles, casting on, the knit stitch and the purl stitch, starting/finishing a row, and other basic questions. The atmosphere will be helpful and no pressure! Mistakes are welcome and important for learning…so there are no dumb mistakes! Participants walk away with a pattern and supplies for their first project. Come early to choose some yarn and supplies if you don’t have them. (6 people max; supplies not included)

 

Knitting the Nymphalidea

Tuesday, August 8th, 1:00pm-3:00pm Cost: $35.00 Instructor: Michelle Cohen

If you weren’t able to do our Summer 2016 Knit-a-long, the “Nymphalidea” shawl, now you can!!! This shawl is a great summer shawl as it uses sock weight yarn and has lots of “yarn over” holes! The pattern uses two colors of yarn, one solid and one that changes color gradually. You will learn how to work short rows and continually increase to make an asymmetrical shawl that is stunning to wear. This is an advanced beginner/intermediate class. (6 people max; supplies not included)

 

Crochet Animals

Saturday, August 26th, 10:30am-1:30pm Cost: $40.00 Instructor: Joan Hoffmeyer

Joan will be teaching us how to make an amigurimi animal using crochet. Amigurumi is a term that covers the beautiful and fun trend of crocheting and knitting stuffed animals, people or even inanimate objects. The exact pattern is TBD but I’m sure will be a 10 on the cuteness scale!!

All classes must be paid for at the time of registration. If a class is cancelled due to low registration, a full refund will be given. If a customer cannot attend a class, 24 hr cancellation notice is required for a refund otherwise credit will be given toward another class. As classes might have waiting lists, this is a courtesy to those who might be waiting for a spot. Thank you!
