Open Knitting

Wednesdays 1pm-3pm, Thursdays 5pm-7pm & Saturday 10am-5pm

Please join us for open knitting every Wednesday afternoon, Thursday evening and Saturday morning! It's a great way to get help and spend time with your fiber loving friends!! If you are interested in having your group meet in our space on a different day and time, just let me know and I'll put it on the schedule!

"Skill Building Knitting Group"

Are you looking to learn new stitches and new techniques? Are you looking for inspiration for a new project but don't feel advanced enough in your skills? Are you stuck on a current project? Join us for these Tuesday morning skill building sessions. Each person receives individualized attention on their specific needs. The group will include instruction and comradery as we all learn from each other! (6 people max)

“For All My Friends Who Want to Learn to Knit” Beginner Class

Instructor: Michelle Cohen & Yarrow Morgan

This is a true beginner class! If you think you've caught the knitting bug, then this class is for you! We will cover the very basics of choosing yarn and needles, casting on, the knit stitch and the purl stitch, starting/finishing a row, and other basic questions. The atmosphere will be helpful and no pressure! Mistakes are welcome and important for learning…so there are no dumb mistakes! Come early to choose some yarn and supplies if you don't have them. This is a two part class so you have some time to practice and come back before overloading your brain too much! (6 people max; supplies not included)

“Little Fingers Knitting”

If your little darling has wanted to learn but you're not the one to teach them, bring them to us and we'll help them learn the basics to get started on their very own project (TBD)! We have lots of fun colors of yarn to choose from. Of course, if you'd like to learn along with your child, we welcome the beginner big fingers as well! The cost is $35/parent-child pair. (6 participants max; supplies not included)

“Blocking Seminar and Social”

Instructor: Eleni Adkins

Take the fear out of blocking and learn how to determine the proper blocking method for your project. Join us for a happy hour with mocktails and hors d'oeuvres and watch as we demonstrate various blocking techniques, how to identify the right tools for your project, and how to apply them. Blocking kits will be available at a discounted price for students. Kits will include, blocking mats, pins, wires, combs, and a sample of Eucalan. Pre-registration is required, space is limited to 12 participants, as this is an exclusive after-hours event

“Starshower Cowl”

Instructor: Sarah Clarke

Learn how to knit lace and short rows in the round in this two-part class using the elegant and versatile Starshower Cowl pattern. Sarah has created several pattern samples around the store and this project was so eye-catching that we knew it needed to be taught!! The class is recommended for experienced knitters or ambitious beginners! (3 people min; 6 max)

“Color Stranding: The Easy Ombre Slouch Hat”

Instructor: Michelle Cohen

Have you ever wanted to learn how to do colorwork? This beautiful hat pattern provides a perfect introduction! The class will cover reading charts, knitting with two colors (and two hands), and carrying the yarn in the back. The project requires two contrasting or complimentary colors of the Llama Una Baby Llama yarn. Some “homework” required before class. (supplies not included; 6 participants max)

“Peggy's Slant Pocket Felted Bag”

Learn to knit a wonderful bag to be felted. Features include two front pockets and handle options. Felting instructions covered to insure you felt your bag successfully. You will select a wool yarn to knit the bag in the color of your choosing.

“Flower Power: Crochet Embellishments”

Instructor: Joan Hoffmeyer

Do you want to take your beginner crochet skills to another level? Are you an ambitious knitter who wants to learn how to make those fancy crochet flowers? This is the class for you! Joan will teach us how to make flower embellishments for hats, headbands, socks or your favorite project. Small kits of yarn will be provided in the class. (3 participants min, 6 maximum).

“Zinnia Flower Shawl: Intermediate Crochet Class”

Instructor: Joan Hoffmeyer

Join us to learn how to crochet a beautiful spring shawl! We will be using a new yarn arriving soon called Nettle Grove from Plymouth Yarn. This yarn is a blend of cotton, linen, nettle and silk…perfect for spring and summer! This triangle shawl is worked in an all over V stitch and finished with a simple edging. (3 participants min, 6 maximum)

“Learning Cables: Cables & Eyelets Cowl (by Diana Walla)”

Instructor: Sarah Clarke

Have you been wanting to learn how to cable? Join Sarah as she guides you through the basics of using the cable needle while creating the lovely and approachable Cables & Eyelets Cowl. The pattern uses about 1 skein (approx. 200 yards) of sport weight yarn. It also comes with a very simple pattern chart….which Sarah will explain how to read (a bonus if you've not learned how to read knitting charts yet!) (3 participants min, 6 maximum)


PNW Spring Yarn Crawl will be Thursday, April 28th - Sunday, May 1st

All classes must be paid for at the time of registration. If a class is cancelled due to low registration, a full refund will be given. If a customer cannot attend a class, 24 hr cancellation notice is required for a refund otherwise credit will be given toward another class. As classes might have waiting lists, this is a courtesy to those who might be waiting for a spot. Thank you!
